Team FUJI fueled by Clif Bar has started the season. Tobi Schultze and I decided to get out for the first Wells Ave criterium in Newton this past weekend. It was a nice ride into a strong headwind for most of the ride north. The race was fairly fast from the beginning with a few slow laps scattered throughout. I was impressed with the general condition of most of the guys in the A-Race. Tobi and I worked on being teammates for the first time and things clicked pretty well. I enjoyed showing Tobi what his leadouts were going to look like throughout the season and I think he took to my style pretty quickly.
It is so nice to have the Wells Ave criterium on any given Sunday to race at. The crew from BRC deserve a huge "thank you" for their year after year support of cycling in greater Boston.
In the end we had some nice results as well: Tobi was 3rd and I was two spots in front of Tobi. Not a bad way to start out the season.
The new FUJI SL-1's ride amazing. Very stiff, super-light, and ready to race!
Hard to believe there is only one more weekend before the USA Cycling season gets underway with Marblehead. This is a true classic!
Hopefully by then all 5 members of Team FUJI fueled by Clif Bar will have raced together as one unit. There are going to be some heated battles going down on the streets of Marblehead.
The plan is to get down to Plymouth this weekend and race at the Charge Pond training race.
